Russia has used chemical weapons against Ukrainian troops on the Siversk front for three consecutive weeks, according to Ukraine's Rubizh Rapid Response Brigade. The toxic gas spreads quickly through trenches and low areas, forcing men out into the open, leaving them vulnerable to drones, mortars, and artillery. Russian artillery barrages in the Sversk direction have increased to 200 per day, potentially indicating a large offensive is planned for this region. The Rubizh Rapid Response Brigade said they are preparing for such an attack. Ukraine documented Russia's systematic chemical weapons use at the OPCW in March, with over 6,900 instances since the invasion began, and 3,400 Ukrainian soldiers treated for poisoning symptoms as of March 2025.

Missile manufacturer MBDA has entered a partnership with a French car company and a drone company to produce 1,000 “One Way Effectors” monthly. There isn’t much known about the One Way Effectors, but they are supposed to be a cheap and mass-producible long-range weapon capable of exhausting and revealing enemy air defenses and making them vulnerable to follow-up strikes. MBDA says this new weapon is designed with attritional warfare in mind. There is no word on whether these will be sent to Ukraine, but France is developing a close relationship with Ukraine and French automakers to produce drones, and this war is a potential testing ground.
